What a beautiful assortment of rocks you have here Linda – every color of the rainbow. They put the river rocks in my garden to shame. I am glad you got to Pictured Rocks, Munising and saw Lake Superior while you’re visiting the Mitten State! At the grocery store, I talked to some folks that were in Mackinac at a family get-together last weekend and they said there was no color yet, likely as a consequence of the drought-like conditions we experienced this Summer. I hope you get to see SOME Fall color while you are there.
We did see a little Fall color – definitely more than we would at home. I was amazed at how clear the water was at Lake Superior! I love rocks and was ecstatic at the variety. I am taking three ziploc bags full of rocks home with me, LOL.
I’m glad you saw some color then. When those folks said they saw no color, I thought of you right away. I just remembered they said they went to the Tunnel of Trees. I’ve never heard of that, so just looked it up – will send a link. It is Petoskey. I don’t know if you are going that way. I don’t blame you for taking those rocks. See if you can find a Petoskey stone or two on the beach if you go to Petoskey. They look boring, but you shine them up, if you buy a rock tumbler, or just by using sandpaper and they will gleam and have interesting “dots”. You can also probably buy a Petoskey stone to use as a paperweight or some memento if you don’t find one.
Oh, maybe not go to the Tunnel of Trees – I see now it is a narrow road and could prove difficult for large vehicles – maybe your camper/RV would be okay. Sorry I didn’t see that before sending it to you.

Here is the Tunnel of Trees. I forgot to Google it until you wrote about the colors.

No worries. We used an app that keeps us from taking the camper into areas that will cause problems.

That’s great that “there’s an app for that!”
