Last weekend we made a day trip to participate in the first birthday celebration for Kenn’s great-nephew. We spent a few minutes visiting Kenn’s brother and sister-in-law where we discovered the poorest excuse for an outdoor ceiling fan we’ve ever seen.🤣
We had one like that once! The guy who “renovated” the house before we bought it put an indoor fan on the screened porch. It is humid here, and those fake wood blades did not last long. You have to wonder about some folks.

That’s the problem with this one! It’s an indoor fan and not built for Southern humidity.

We are very happy with our industrial style outdoor fans on the deck, and soon to be on the screened porch. We bought a new one which is outdoor rated…but sadly, only blows air straight down…which is great if you just want to stand under it. You have to keep in mind, we moved from Texas…the dry part…so forgive us for taking so long to figure out the south. As someone once said to me: “you thought being from Texas you was from the south…”

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are proof that even native Southerners don’t necessarily get it right!

Holy crap; just how humid was it?!

Just normal Southern humidity. Indoor fans should not be used outdoors around here!

Based on moving from north central Texas where it was dry enough to keep your income tax records in a cardboard box in the pasture….very very humid. I moved here, and my shoes rotted in the closet.

Talk about a warped sense of humor! I hope they don’t depend on it to cool them as it looks like a wilted flower. 🙂

I think they given up, LOL. But an indoor fan should never be used as an outdoor fan around here; it won’t handle the humidity well – or at all.

Going with the “or at all”.

I can imagine with all the humidity – we don’t have as much humidity and I see wooden benches that warp and you’d be afraid to sit down on one!

Oh no! How terribly sad it looks!

I didn’t even know a fan could do that, LOL.

Reminds me of some of our outdoor potted plants enduring (or not) the right-on-time heat and humidity of summer!
