Friday Funnies

Earlier in the week, I decided to quit putting off cleaning our lofted popcorn ceiling. This is not a task I enjoy. (I’m not sure I enjoy any cleaning-related tasks.) Our ceiling is 20 feet high and best accessed from the loft outside our master bedroom. The problem comes in when trying to reach the ceiling farthest from the loft; even with the handle extended as far as it will go, the duster will barely reach. But, if I was going to do this, I was going to do everything.

When I was attempting to dust the stained glass windows, the duster got caught on a hook… and came off. There it hung, in all its fuzzy blue glory, mocking me, and refusing to let go no matter how much I poked and prodded it. I decided I would just leave it there as a cautionary tale about cleaning. However, once I calmed down a bit, I decided to enlist Kenn’s help. He, of course, was able to get it down with no trouble.🤦‍♀️

I have now ordered another duster with a 24 foot handle so I can actually stand on the floor to clean that end of the ceiling rather than tempting fate working from the loft. Where are Cinderella’s helpful woodland creatures when you need them?

Friday Funnies

Guess who? Yep, it’s Bear! A couple of days ago while I was getting ready for work, he kept running up to me and yelling. Of course, like any good cat owner (or cat owned) I kept asking “What? What’s wrong?” When his meows didn’t get through to me he decided it was necessary to put his words into action. I exited the walk-in closet to find Bear on the highest point in the master bedroom – on top of the jewelry box on top of the dresser – with his nose pointing at the bug on the ceiling. To his great dismay, I made him get down without getting the bug for him. He somehow managed to deal with his heartbreak – mainly by stalking the bug from the floor as it journeyed across the ceiling.

On another note, you also get to see the mess on top of my dresser. I repeatedly clean the dresser and tell myself that I’m not going to cover it with stuff again and yet I always do. Oh, well…
