Friday Funnies

Over the years, hotels have decided that everyone needs three or four pillows each. We usually carry our own pillows when we travel so we move the extras elsewhere. During our stay in Wall, South Dakota our room had two queen-sized beds so one bed became the repository for excess pillows. During the night I moved to the extra bed in a desperate attempt to get away from Kenn’s snoring. However, that meant that I had to move the mountain of pillows before I could attempt to sleep. Kenn laughed the next morning when he couldn’t even see me over the wall o’ pillows.

A few days ago Kenn was working at our rental property and sent me the photo above with the text “What’s odd with this picture?” All I could focus on was the window on the door. What the heck was wrong with the window? Was that a reflection or was there something on it? (Side note: I finally got my much-wanted red door and we moved less than a year later. Sigh.)

However, it seems my subconscious was still considering the photo and the text. A few minutes later I pulled the photo back up and zoomed in to find this:

Boo!

Yes, there was a squirrel hanging out in the rain gutter.😂

We spent a portion of our rest day in Horse Cave, KY sitting on the bank of the lake at the KOA watching the ducks. One perfectly time click of the camera is all it took to get this wonderful shot of double duck butts. (Seriously. You have no idea how many attempts it took to get this shot, LOL.)

As you can see in the photo, our basement has a drop ceiling; a few days ago, the cats and I heard some sort of critter up there. Kenn brought his ladder in so he could attempt to locate said critter. He didn’t see anything but decided to leave his ladder in the basement until we could have an expert come in and set up traps, etc. I wasn’t sure that leaving the ladder propped against the wall was the best idea. A few minutes later, Tippy proved me right.😂 (Note: we left the ladder in the basement but decided to lay it down.)

Friday Funnies

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that even though I intend to limit the amount of stuff that my sons have to go through when we’re gone, they will have to deal with my random stashes of rocks and shark’s teeth. I found another one a few days ago when I checked the pockets on a tote bag I’ll be donating. There are two takeaways from this:

  1. My love for rocks knows no bounds.
  2. Always check your pockets before washing clothes and/or donating items.

We overnighted at a KOA Holiday in Manchester, TN on our way to Louisville. (It was one of the nicest KOAs we’ve stayed at.) Once we rested a bit we decided to take a walk and discovered a huge field behind the campsites with a walking path around the edge. (A small herd of deer kept an eye on us from the far side of the field.) There are all sorts of interesting “statues” lining the trail and the edge of the woods starting with two gigantic squirrels. Kenn said “Please don’t touch the squirrel’s giant nuts,” so of course I did because that’s how I roll.🤷‍♀️😂
