Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year for the cats. Boxes, bags, and gifts galore!
I have to tell on myself. I wish I could say I had a “duh” moment, but it was more like a “duh” day.🤦♀️ It all started when my new shoes arrived. I removed all of the packing and thought the insoles looked weird but wore them the next day to break them in.

It wasn’t until I removed the shoes after wearing them all day that I realized the weird looking insoles were actually pieces of cardboard. Sigh.🙄

Sometimes, you just have to laugh. Happy Friday!

Nyx, our black cat, is sassy and full of cattitude. I call her our “house panther with kitchen specialization” because she’s fairly aloof unless we’re in the kitchen. The kitchen is her happy place and when we are in there, she is rubbing against our ankles and vocalizing.
I adore my ceramic cow; it was a gift from my oldest sister several years ago. My cow has been been chipped and broken and glued back together. However, the thing that may do it in is the cat. Nyx periodically fixates on my poor little cow and insists on chewing on the tips of its ears. Among the many things I shouldn’t have to say to the cats, “Stop chewing on my cow!” tops the list.🙄
Most of our cats have several nicknames in addition to their real name; Nyx, however, does not. However, after her latest assault on my cow, I have decided her new nickname shall be Salty Heifer.🐄🐈⬛

For the first time, Kenn planted a small garden this year. Some things didn’t do very well, but we did get a few bell peppers and the tomatoes are still coming in. However, we’ve learned the hard way that we can’t leave tomatoes sitting on the kitchen counter to finish ripening. Nyx, our black cat, has a weird obsession with them. Any tomato left unguarded will, at the very least, develop teeth marks – if it doesn’t completely disappear.
Earlier this week I showered while Kenn cooked supper. When I came downstairs to set the table, etc. he told me that he’d brought in three tomatoes. He turned his back for a minute and all three were gone. He managed to find two of them (one was in the garbage disposal) but one was still missing in action. I didn’t find the third one until I went downstairs to play video games. The remains of the third tomato were at the base of the stairs.
Our cats definitely keep life interesting, LOL!

As a multi-cat household, Amazon and Hello Fresh deliveries are a Big Deal. There is much claiming of and defending of boxes from all comers. In this instance, Nyx claimed the Hello Fresh box which immediately became her “throne” from which to judge us.
